Mangos and Strawberries are in season and have been super inexpensive lately so we've been eating lots of them. Today I decided I wanted to combine the two into a dessert of some sort. After looking around allrecipes.com I found something called a Milk Tart and thought it would be great with fresh fruit and glaze on top. I chose the recipe because it was a custard filling with less eggs. I've made lots of custards before and have never been truly pleased with any of them because of the eggy taste and ultra firm texture. This custard sets up well but still melts in your mouth so I've found THE custard recipe for all time. Here is the finished product:

Here is the recipe:
Milk TartThe pastry puffs up A TON so spread it thinly in your tart pans (or just use a pie pan if you don't have a tart pan). I cut the recipe in half to make just one tart and omitted the sprinkling of cinnamon on top, then I garnished it with fruit. Also, after looking around at various compote and glaze recipes I decided to go with a simple jam glaze. Take whatever jam or jelly you have on hand and melt it in a saucepan until it is pastry brush consistency. After you've arranged your fruit on top just brush the jam glaze over it to give it extra flavor and gloss.
Oh and yes, this tart tastes as delicious as it looks!
