Who is Polly Providence?

I started this blog under a screen name, Polly Providence, but eventually decided to use my real name. I'm Summer, the wife of a PhD student whose research currently has no end in sight. I'm also the mother of three mostly delightful children. I am the one who tries to keep our sanity in tact, our household supplies prepared for any disaster and our heads above the rising price flood sweeping the nation.

I suppose if I had a personal tagline it would be, "Learning as much as I possibly can in this short span called life!"

I use this blog to post about provident living, money saving endeavors and other things I've learned that have enriched my life and made me a more self-reliant person. There is something here for everyone! I hope you'll subscribe to my feed and come back soon.

You can find me blogging about motherhood and publishing my poetry and other writings at Summer's Nook. You can find me designing blogs, buttons, navigation bars and the like at Designs by Summer.

TERMINOLOGY

I try to avoid using a whole lot of unfamiliar terminology on this site, but there are a few terms or abbreviations you might be wondering about.

* EB's = Extra Bucks
Extra Bucks are a perk of shopping at CVS

* Ins. = Insert
As in newspaper insert. Usually you'll see something like this in blue, in parenthesis referring to a coupon: (04/26 ins.)
04/26 is April 26th and ins. refers to newspaper coupon insert. So you know to find that particular coupon in your April 26th newspaper coupon insert.

* Exp. = Expires
Usually found in bold next to a coupon reference

* Peelie = Peel off coupon
A peelie is a coupon that can be found directly on a product at the store.

* B1G1Free = Buy 1 Get 1 Free
